Addressing Mental Health and Learning Needs in NYS Schools

Grant Opportunity: The New York State Education Department's 2023-2025 New York State RECOVS: Recover from COVID School Program provides funding for New York State public school districts and BOCES to expand resources that address student mental health and learning loss exacerbated by the pandemic.
 
RECOVS grants are available in two tracks:
  • Mental Health RECOVS Grants will provide support to projects that expand student access to school-based mental health professionals, interventions, programming, and practices that promote mental health and wellness.
  • Learning Loss RECOVS Grant will provide support to projects that expand student access to academic recovery professionals, interventions, programming, services, supports, and practices that counter learning loss.
 
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include all New York State public school districts, boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES), or a consortium/ combination thereof.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: This grant will award grantees up to $1,200 per student per year over the course of the two-year grant period.

  • Deadline for Questions: July 21, 2023
  • Answers Posted: August 4, 2023
  • Optional Notice of Intent Due: August 11, 2023
  • Application Deadline: August 18, 2023
