Grant Opportunity: NASA’s Office of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Engagement (OSTEM) is now accepting proposals for its Teams Engaging Affiliated Museums and Informal Institutions (TEAM II) grant program. TEAM II provides funding to informal educational institutions (IEI) to provide STEM educational opportunities for youth that utilize NASA resources and that contribute to NASA’s mission. Proposals should include partnerships with learning support systems of students' families such as informal and formal educators and institutions.

Grants are administered in two tiers, Community Anchor grants and Full Awards for TEAM II. This structure aims to encourage participation by significantly more institutions and to create a cohort of Community Anchors to partner with NGS and NASA in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include IEIs- such as nonprofit museums, youth-serving organizations, or libraries- located in the United States or U.S. territories that provide STEM education for youth. Applicants may partner with other IEIs, K-12 schools, commercial entities, higher education institutions, and/or other agencies that support Federal STEM education goals.

Grant Amount and Grant Period: Community Anchor awards will range from $35,000 to $40,000 with a grant period between one to two years. Full awards will range between $500,000 and $800,000 with a grant period of two to four years.

Important Dates:
  • Community Anchor Application Deadline: August 15, 2023
  • Full Team II Award Application Deadline: September 12, 2023
