Restoring Forests in the Western United States

Grant Opportunity: The U.S. Forest Service's Landscape Scale Restoration (LSR) program is now accepting proposals for their Western U.S. region grants. This program provides funding for collaborative, science-based restoration projects in nonindustrial private forests or state forest land in rural communities. Projects will aim to address action items in regional Forest Action Plans such as wildfire risk reduction, watershed protection and restoration, and diminishing the spread of invasive species, insect infestation, and disease.
 
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include State forestry agencies or appropriate state agencies, units of local government, Indian Tribes, non-profit organizations, universities, and Alaska Native Corporations.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: Awards will range between $25,000 to $300, 000 with funding distributed in a single year even for multi-year projects.
 
Grant Deadline: November 17th, 2023
