Exploring the Legal, Ethical, and Cultural Impacts of Artificial Intellegience

Grant Opportunity:  In accordance with the White House’s 2023 National Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Strategic Plan, the National Endowment for the Humanities’s Humanities Research Centers on Artificial Intelligence grant will provide funding for the development of new interdisciplinary collaborative research centers focused on legal, ethical, or societal implications of AI.

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, units of state and local government, or Native American tribal governments.

Grant Amount and Grant Period: The total maximum award is $750,000 over a three-year grant period. Applicants may also request up to $250,000 in matching funds.

  • Optional Draft Deadline: October 2nd, 2024

  • Application Deadline: December 11th, 2024
