Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP)

New York State Department of Education announced another round of their STEP program aimed at preparing secondary school students in scientific, technical, health, health-related, and licensed professionals for entry into postsecondary degree programs in these fields. This program specifically works to increase the number of economically disadvantaged, minority, or historically underrepresented students entering science and technology degree programs at Institutions of Higher Education in New York. 

Funding: 

(1) Previously funded individual STEP projects have a maximum budget of $600,500 per year for 5 years. 

(2) New individual STEP projects have a maximum budget of $299,500 per year for 5 years.

(3) Consortium STEP projects have a maximum budget of $999,500 per year for 5 years.

Eligibility: Institutions of Higher Education or a consortium of Institutions of Higher Education in New York State. Eligible applicants are a degree-granting postsecondary institution, or a consortium of such institutions, which offers an approved undergraduate program of study and/or an approved graduate level program of study.

Application Due: November 26, 2024 by 5:00pm Eastern Time.
