The New York State Council on the Arts has recently released their 2023 funding opportunities for arts and cultural organizations in New York State. If you or your organization is interested in submitting a NYSCA grant and are curious how BRI can help, contact us at or 1585-431-3416.
Grant Opportunity: In order to preserve and enhance the artistic and cultural heritage of New York State, the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) will be providing five funding opportunities for the 2023 fiscal year.
  • Support for Organizations Grants provide flexible general operating and programming funding for non-profit arts and cultural organizations.
  • Support for Artists Grants provide funding for commissions for individual artists through a non-profit applicant.
  • Support for Special Opportunities Grants provide funding for creative performance residencies, subsidized rehearsal spaces for all performing art forms, and folk arts apprenticeships.
  • Regrowth and Capacity Grants provide flexible funding for organizations to redevelop their ability to serve their audiences in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Support for Partnerships Grants provide targeted funding for non-profit NYSCA partners that otherwise would not be covered by Support for Organization Grants.
In addition, in Fall 2022, NYSCA will open applications for capital project funding.
Eligibility: Non-profit organizations that do business in New York State, Native American tribes in New York State, and units of government in municipalities in New York State are eligible to apply to NYSCA grants. Support for Partnership Grants, however, are by invitation only.
