Grant Opportunity: The New York State Education Department's FY2022 National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant for School Food Authorities aims to improve the infrastructure of schools participating in the National School Lunch Program by providing funding for the purchase of equipment needed to serve healthier meals, improve meal quality, improve food safety, expand participation in school meals programs, and help to support the establishment, maintenance, or expansion of the School Breakfast Program.
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include all New York State agencies that are under a School Food Authority (SFA) that participates in the National School Lunch Program. This includes public school districts, non-profit nonpublic schools, charter schools, and residential childcare institutions.
Grant Amount and Period: Grants will range between $1,000 and $20,000 with a grant period of one year between July 1st, 2023, and June 30th, 2024.
Application Deadline: March 31st, 2023. Non-public and charter school SFA applicants must be prequalified in the Grants Gateway by the application deadline.
