Supporting Migratory Children and Youth in New York State for Academic and Professional Success

Grant Opportunity: The New York State Education Department is now accepting proposals for their 2023-2028 Migrant Education Tutorial and Support Services (METS) Program. METS aims to promote the academic and professional success of all migratory children and youth in New York State by funding program centers that will implement educational and support services for migrant-eligible children and youth, agricultural workers, fishers, and their families. Activities funded may include, but are not limited to, strategic tutoring and academic support, mentoring, academic and/or career counseling, or programs to foster family engagement.
 
Eligibility: Eligible applications include Local Education Agencies (LEAs), such as school districts that operate elementary and secondary schools, as well as institutions of higher education.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period:  An estimated $8.4 million will be available annually over the five-year grant period depending on federal funding and successful program delivery. 
 
Important Dates:
  • Questions Due Date: March 22nd, 2023
  • Optional Letter of Intent Due: April 12th, 2023
  • Application Due: April 19th, 2023
